Director of the Library

McKendree University seeks a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of the University Library. The University has experienced dramatic and exciting growth in the last ten years, especially in graduate and online programs. We seek a director who will participate in this growth and expansion.
McKendree University’s Holman Library is a Governing member of CARLI, the Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois. The Library collections include the University Archives, the Warren Grauel and Irving Dilliard Special Collections, among others. The Library staff has successfully completed grant projects in the last few years including the digitization of the University’s yearbooks and founding documents; collection expansion grants for the Japanese and Jamaican programs; and electronic books. The University’s expanding online and graduate programs represent a new challenge and opportunity for Holman.
The candidate must hold an MLS degree from an ALA accredited program, have three years post-MLS relevant administrative experience and be well-versed in the integration of technology in academic libraries.
