McKendree Haiti Relief Efforts
McKendree University Bowl-A-Thon for Haiti
How it works:
The McKendree University Bowl-A-Thon for Haiti will take place on Sunday, March 21, 2010 from 3pm until 6pm at St. Clair Bowl in Fairview Heights, IL. Bowl-A-Thon for Haiti’s purpose is to raise funds to assist in the earthquake relief efforts of the American Red Cross and UMCOR, the United Methodist Committee on Relief. This event is open to McKendree students, faculty, and staff. Gather a few friends or co-workers together to form a team (maximum 6 people) and talk to friends, relatives, etc about the event and its purpose. Ask them to pledge a donation for one game (i.e. 50¢ per pin, 10¢ per pin, etc.) or to give a flat donation. You will bowl two games and for those per pin pledges, we will take your best score. Minimum score is 100. For flat donations, please make all checks out to McKendree University and bring them with you to the event. After the event, please collect all of your per pin donations and turn them in to the Office of Campus Activities, located in The Lair.
Once you have put your team together and have begun to get pledges, please make sure that you complete the lane reservation form at www.mckendree.edu/StudentLife/haitilanes.aspx. Lanes are limited for March 21 and we have two bowling times planned for the event:
- Bowling Time 1: 3:00pm (only 10 lanes available)
- Bowling Time 2: 4:30pm (only 18 lanes available)
*Please note that depending on numbers of participation, some preferred times may not be granted and we will fill time slots as needed.
Free Food and a Great Time!
Campus Activities Board will offset the McKendree student cost of bowling. McKendree students will only pay $2, which will cover shoes and bowling for 2 games. Campus Activities Board will also provide free pizza at each bowling time, soft drinks not included. Also, with your registration, you’re automatically signed up to win some fun door prizes!
